Liechtenstein

We are based in Liechtenstein which, with a surface area of only 160 square kilometers, is the fourth smallest country in Europe. Liechtenstein lies within the Alps on the upper course of the River Rhine and shares borders with Switzerland and Austria. It has a population of about 38,000 people living in eleven communities – 6,000 of them live in the capital, Vaduz. Liechtenstein is a constitutional hereditary monarchy with a democratic parliamentary government and since 1990 a member of the United Nations. The national language is German, and the currency is the Swiss Franc. Liechtenstein is known as a centre for financial services. With the implementation of the new law on foundations, Liechtenstein became attractive to charitable foundations. The local engineering, medical and food industries are of great economic importance to the country.
