Renovate and Furnish Kindergartens

The children and teachers in twelve schools and six pre-schools do not have to use insanitary pit latrines anymore. Conditions were improved through renovation and the provision of constant running water and a functioning sewerage system. As a result of these interventions, school attendance increased by 22 %. Also, Save the Children built awareness and the capacities of parents, 16 teachers and their assistants on inclusive pre-school education for children with disabilities. Annually, 200 children whereof 87 girls, attended pre-school classes. All this would not have been possible without the significant contributions of the local municipalities which supported the refurbishment of the six pre-schools. In Nerqin Getashen and Vardenik communities, the school sport halls, including the bathrooms and locker rooms, were renovated as well.
