Provide Health Services and Social Care

Since 2009, Medicor Foundation has been supporting the local organisation Duart Plotë Mëshirë (DPM) and its remarkable dedication to mitigate pain and distress of people who would not have the means to access health care otherwise. Around 650 persons annually have been benefitting from home visits, medical treatment, wound cleaning and care, as well as counselling. Persons with a cancer diagnosis were assisted with money, so that they could purchase cytostatic medicaments or analgesic. The children of patients received psychosocial and educational support to avoid school dropouts. After the earthquake in 2019 in Albania, DPM brought clothing, food and baby items to affected families in the neighbouring villages. During the Corona Pandemic, the organisation delivered food  packages and medicaments to poor families in Peja.
