This project improved the infrastructure of the eight secondary schools Ngora, Toroma, Green Shoots, Onwards & Upwards, Kichwamba, Apeulai, Samling Toro and Samling Nama, namely by creating 840 additional dormitory places together with 17 new classrooms for an additional 1 020 day-school places across five schools. In addition, science as well as information and communication technology laboratories, new sanitary blocks for pupils and teachers, as well as cooking facilities and teacher accommodation were built within the various schools. The infrastructural improvements resulted in increased enrolment rates and improved the quality of science education. The same applies also to health and hygiene and safety requirements.
Newly refurbished classrooms with large windows permit daylight to enter in the classroom and hence creating a good learning environment. © PEAS
