Tdh strengthened local actors that succeeded, by working in coordination, to reduce child migration and offer better protection to about 5 350 children at risk annually – far more than planned. Tdh’s promising intervention integrated several components, i.e. protection, education, livelihood, WASH, vocational training and employment, and it involved all relevant stakeholders in the zones of origin of the children, along the migration routes and in the destination zones. Hundreds of children who were out of school and exposed to exploitation could be enrolled in school or involved in an economic activity. Families and communities could strengthen their livelihoods, which again improved the prospects for the children. As community leaders, parents and local associations were convinced about Tdh’s work, they considerably contributed to the positive achievements.
