Sectors

Medicor Foundation focusses mainly on development projects and thereby contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations. Our strategy includes the following three sectors: Education, Health and Social Care. These sectors will be supported in all three regions, but will vary according to the specific requirements of the regions. Separate funding is available for emergency relief.

  • Health »
    • Sufficient, healthy nutrition and clean drinking water, access to basic primary health care and sanitation are important preconditions for social and economic development and poverty reduction. However, the lack of these is most evident in the least developed countries. Medicor Foundation provides funding for preventive and curative interventions which should be focussed on where those affected live. Emphasis is placed on health education for the community, and the training of health personnel, as well as the development and maintenance of health infrastructure.

  • Education »
    • Although considerable progress has been made in the field of education in many developing countries, millions of children worldwide still do not go to school. Children belonging to marginalised groups, and girls in particular, do not have access to education. Against this background Medicor Foundation supports projects that promote early child development and improve access and quality of primary and secondary education. Moreover, our foundation aims to fund projects that enable people to develop their professional skills or acquire relevant income generating skills and thereby start their working life. Support is also given to projects that enable diversified and increased agricultural production, thus contributing to entrepreneurship in technical agricultural areas and to the income of farming families.

  • Social Care »
    • Elderly people without a family network, adults, adolescents and children with disabilities, single mothers, children and women who are the victims of violence or abandoned children are neglected or even abused in many countries. Medicor Foundation supports projects that provide expert care and counseling, facilitates their reintegration into society, and opens awareness and opportunities for a life in dignity and hope.

  • Emergency Relief »
    • As a consequence of war and natural disasters people continually experience life-threatening situations. Medicor Foundation provides funding for immediate assistance where people are in distress. We rely on organisations that have the capacity to provide professional and meaningful assistance by effectively coordinating and quickly implementing their activities.
